Starting & Charging Systems

Much like your heart needs to be working for your body to function properly, the battery in your vehicle is responsible to keep most of the systems operating.  That battery is under constant drain from all the electrical components, so the alternator must keep it charged.  Your vehicle’s charging system restores power to the battery only while it is running.

The primary components are the battery, alternator, starter, pulleys, belts, and the electrical cables that deliver power where needed.  The vehicle’s lights, audio system, and all other electronics will eventually fail if the charging system is not functioning properly.

Common indicators of an electrical problem are trouble starting, dimming lights, burning smell, and dash warning lights.  Of all the systems in your vehicle, problems with the starting and charging system are usually tied to either a bad battery, failing alternator, or connection issues within your electrical system.

OUR TECHNICIANS ARE TRAINED TO PROPERLY DIAGNOSE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITHIN YOUR VEHICLE.  EVEN WITH THE LIMITED NUMBER OF COMPONENTS, THERE CAN SOMETIMES BE A COMBINATION OF PROBLEMS.  IF YOU NOTICE ANY SIGNS OF AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE WITH YOUR VEHICLE, CONTACT US TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT.
