Transmission Service

For most of us, the transmission in our vehicle is “out of sight and out of mind” until there is a problem.  Failing to allow your vehicles factory scheduled transmission service interval can lead to a BIG repair bill, sometimes more than your vehicle is worth.

So whats the best advice?  Have your transmission fluid replaced at the mileage interval suggested by the vehicle manufacturer. Transmission service can be recommended from 15000 miles to transmissions that are sealed and never need service.  Replacing transmission fluid is a very reasonable investment that can prevent a huge repair bill.  Our service advisors can explain your vehicles recommended transmission service program.
In addition, there are two types of transmission service: one that simply drains and refills, and another that is a power flush.  In a higher mileage vehicle a power flush will help dislodge sludge and particles.
Continuously  variable transmission (CVT’s) have their own set of rules and require specific CVT fluids.  CVT vehicles have a belt or pulley system versus a set number of gears like a traditional transmission.
Even with regular transmission fluid replacement, other more difficult issues can occur in your transmission. Our service advisors will routinely suggest transmission service based on the mileage of your vehicle.  This is not to make your spend more, it is to hopefully have you avoid spending more on an expensive transmission problem.
TRANSMISSION FLUID REPLACEMENT SERVICE IS A ROUTINE PROCEDURE…..TRANSMISSION BREAKDOWNS REQUIRE AN ASE CERTIFIED TECHNICIANS WITH SPECIALIZED TRANSMISSION TRAINING.  IF WE DO NOT HAVE A TECHNICIAN WITH THE REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE, WE WILL ADVISE AND RECOMMEND A REPAIR PROCESS.
